LoveChild

LoveChild is a singer and songwriter born in Port Elizabeth in KwaZakhele named Vuyiseka Maguga. She started following her music career in 2012, she grew up loving music. She was in a choral choir in Primary School and led songs in the assembly but when she went to High School she joined the choral choir but was kicked out and told she couldn’t sing. She then gave up on music until she started writing lyrics which she thought it was because of the thing she we...nt through. She then noticed that not only her goes through those things but other people aswell, from there she decided to be the voice of those who cannot speak for themselves. Growing up in KwaZakhele church played a big part in her life, she believes she is God’s set apart. She believes the gift of music in her comes from God Whom she refers to as Her Gentleman because He opens doors for her, makes sure she’s comfortable and safe and provides for her. She wrote and composed a theme song for an annual girl’s conference named Talitha Cumi( Rise Up Little Girl) in 2011 entitled I Know, from there she knew that a lot of people are hurt out there and she has the voice and skill to heal them. In 2012 Dec she had her first own concert from there on she has never stopped, she came with a stage name LoveChild which she says “God is Love and I’m His Child” she explains. 2013 she performed at the first BEAT Magazine SA Hottest of the month Awards in East London which open doors for her, 2014 she was part of a Trio (Ceeboo, Thix’unathi and LoveChild) that performed a tribute song for Nolundi Ngxekana who was one of the BEAT Magazine editors after that the Trio had a ladies night show at The Guild Theatre in Sept 2014. In 2014 Dec she launched the Brand LoveChild, with her unique dressing sense her fan base started growing up, she featured in the Grahamstown National Arts Festival in 2015 doing 3 shows entitle The Love Avenue which she had people from different countries attending her shows and appreciating her dressing sense. She released her first single entitled Khaw’buye which was also playlisted on national platforms, and was nominated for the BEAT Magazine SA awards 2015 in the Female Artist Of The Year category and has also been nominated in the BAMA’s Gospel Artist in 2015.

Her unique dress sense goes with her unique sound which is a mixture of Soul, Jazz, Rhythmic and Blues with a bit of Reggae and Contemporary Gospel. She has worked with the likes of Yahkeem, Tasko, Bongani Tulwana and many more. “If I was born to change 10 people’s lives that’s what I’m going to focus on, however as long as God keeps on opening door for me I’m just going to keep on going in.’’ says LoveChild
